On the afternoon of Thursday, June 25, 2026, the fourth session of the Alumni Wisdom Sharing Series was held in Lecture Hall No. 3, Huixing Building, Yuehai Campus, Shenzhen University. The event featured an outstanding alumnus, Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, a 2019 Ph.D. graduate in Computer Science, who returned to his alma mater to deliver an insightful lecture titled "AI as a Tool, Critical Thinking as a Skill: Building High-Impact Research in the AI Era" to the international students in attendance.

Dr. Muhammad Sadiq currently serves as a Foreign Technical Expert and Director of International Affairs Programs at Shenzhen Information Technology Vocational University, and also holds the position of Visiting Professor at the Shenzhen Institute of Big Data, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), where he teaches critical thinking courses to students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. His research spans a wide range of cutting-edge fields, including artificial intelligence, computer vision, cybersecurity, trustworthy AI, digital forensics, and international academic collaboration. He has accumulated extensive experience in cross-border teaching, research supervision, project development, and international cooperation.

The lecture officially began at 3:30 PM. Dr. Muhammad Sadiq, drawing on his own journey from being a Ph.D. student at Shenzhen University to becoming a foreign expert, reviewed his invaluable academic experience at SZU in a warm and engaging manner, encouraging the students present to cherish their campus days and solidify their professional foundations. He then transitioned to the core theme of the lecture, delivering a profound exposition on how to harness AI as a powerful tool while diligently cultivating critical thinking, independent judgment, and ethical reasoning skills to conduct high-impact research in today's rapidly advancing AI landscape.
After nearly an hour of the lecture, the floor opened for an interactive Q&A session. International students enthusiastically raised questions on topics such as AI career pathways, methods for training critical thinking, and techniques for cross-cultural research collaboration. Dr. Muhammad Sadiq addressed each question with patience and insight, drawing on his extensive cross-border cooperation experience and deep industry knowledge, which drew rounds of applause from the audience.
This Alumni Wisdom Sharing Session represents an important initiative by the College of International Exchange to strengthen alumni connections and broaden the horizons of international students. By inviting outstanding alumni to return and share their experiences, the college not only provided a platform for current students to engage face-to-face with industry pioneers but also used authentic and vivid growth stories to inspire a new generation of international students to clarify their directions and strive for excellence.
