To help international students in China improve their practical Chinese language skills, the "Chinese Language Refueling Station" tutoring activity was officially launched on April 20. Organized by the College of International Exchange at Shenzhen University and hosted by the International Student Association (ISA), the activity adopts a peer-support model to help international students enhance their Chinese application abilities. Focusing on everyday life topics, the program offers systematic instruction and has attracted several international students with elementary-level Chinese proficiency to actively participate.
Guided by the core concept of "peer support," the "Chinese Language Refueling Station" is carefully implemented by the ISA Academic Development Department. Outstanding international and Chinese students majoring in Chinese International Education serve as instructors, helping international students transition from basic comprehension to practical application. The curriculum is grounded in real-life communication scenarios, tailored to the learning characteristics of international students, and includes teaching content closely related to daily life, creating a relaxed and supportive language learning environment.
Day 1: Daily Life Vocabulary Learning – "Fruits and Vegetables"
The first session was held on April 20. Through a combination of images and text, the instructor led students in learning common fruit and vegetable vocabulary, as well as descriptive expressions such as "fresh" and "not fresh." Students practiced sentence patterns like "These fruits are fresh" and "Should we buy apples or bananas?" Through situational role-play and interactive Q&A sessions, the activity helped students use what they learned in specific contexts, thereby improving their expressive abilities.

Day 2: Practical Expression Training – "Excuse me, how do I get to the teaching building?"
The second session was held on April 22. This session focused on asking for directions and expressing locations, with emphasis on verbs such as "go straight," "turn left," and "turn right," as well as location words like "in front of," "behind," "to the left of," and "to the right of." Through simulated dialogues and role-playing, students practiced repeatedly in authentic contexts, gradually mastering basic expressions for asking for and giving directions.

The "Chinese Language Refueling Station" tutoring activity is primarily designed for international students in China with elementary to intermediate Chinese proficiency. Conducted in small-group, in-person sessions, the activity features contextualized and high-frequency practice to help students establish a steady learning rhythm. It not only provides international students with a platform to practice Chinese and offers students majoring in Chinese International Education opportunities for hands-on teaching practice, but also promotes interaction and exchange between Chinese and international students, further enriching the multicultural atmosphere on campus.
