On April 26, 2025, the 8th International Culture Festival of Shenzhen University, hosted by the Yuehai Sub-district Office, the Shenzhen University Community Party Committee and the College of International Exchange of Shenzhen University, was grandly opened on the South Campus of Yuehai. The event featured special sections such as the "Performance Stage", "Flash Mob Stage" and "Booth Experience Area", providing a platform for friendly exchanges among Chinese and foreign youth and the collision and integration of diverse civilizations.

As an annual cultural exchange event of the school, the International Culture Festival provides a stage for international students to showcase the cultural features of their home countries, offers a window for all the teachers, students and citizens to understand the diverse cultures of the world, and at the same time presents the excellent traditional Chinese culture to international students in an interesting and vivid way, telling the Chinese stories well.

In his opening speech, Li Yonghua, the vice president of Shenzhen University, said that the International Culture Festival, with culture as the bond and communication as the carrier, has broadened the cultural horizons of both Chinese and international students, fully demonstrating the educational characteristics and humanistic charm of Shenzhen University in hosting international students.

After the launching ceremony, 15 outstanding students from all over the world were invited to the stage as representatives and were appointed as "International Student Cultural Ambassadors of Liyuan" to pass on the torch of culture with the voice of the youth and enhance exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.

This International Cultural Festival features cultural displays from 34 countries and regions around the world, ranging from the passionate and lively South America to the poetic and elegant Asia, from the romantic Europe to the wild and unrestrained Africa. Cultures from all over the world blend and complement each other here. Each country's booth has carefully designed various interactive experience sections, such as chocolate ball making at the Brazilian booth, spice tea tasting at the Indian booth, and matryoshka doll painting at the Russian booth. Coupled with stickers of national treasures (representative animals), they have attracted a large number of teachers, students and people from all walks of life to actively participate. The local specialties, traditional handicrafts and colorful ethnic costumes at each country's booth make participants feel as if they are in a global cultural experience, allowing them to appreciate the customs and traditions of various places without leaving the campus.


Meanwhile, students from seven universities and high schools in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including City University of Macau, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), South China University of Technology, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, South China Normal University,Shenzhen Nanshan Wenli ExperimentalSchool, and Shenzhen University, presented a variety of performances such as songs, dances, guzheng playing, fashion shows, poetry recitations, and magic tricks. The atmosphere at the event was lively, with frequent bursts of cheers and applause.
Up to now, the International Culture Festival of Shenzhen University has been successfully held for eight consecutive years and has increasingly become one of the most popular brand events on campus, favored by both students and teachers. Each year, the festival brings new innovations. It not only provides a stage for international students to showcase themselves and pass on their cultures but also opens a window for all teachers and students to understand the world and embrace diversity.
