In the afternoon of November 9, 2023, International students of our school participated in the intangible cultural experience activity in Room 201 of Zhaoxi Building: MacKin painting

Wheat straw clip art has a long history and complex technology. Shenzhen Mackin Painting products retain the natural luster of wheat straw gold, which is the ultimate presentation of traditional manual skills and reflects the perfect combination of nature and humanity. Rooted in Longhua, Mackin Painting was selected into the second batch of district-level intangible cultural heritage representative project list of Longhua District in 2019, and the fifth batch of municipal intangible cultural heritage representative project list of Shenzhen City in 2021.

At the event, the lecturer introduced the development process and technical characteristics of Mackin painting to the international students, and explained its unique production process in detail. Wheat straw through "smoke, steaming, bleaching, scraping, pushing, ironing, cutting, engraving, editing, painting" and other processes, through cutting, collage, baking and other processes, in order to produce a Mackin painting work.

After a preliminary understanding of materials and tools, the international students mastered the basic Mackin painting skills, and then began to make Mackin paintings, and finally successfully completed their own work.

Through the experience of making Mackin paintings, the international students said that they not only learned excellent traditional handmade techniques, but also felt the unique charm of intangible cultural heritage.
