PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Shenzhen University's optical engineering discipline was approved as a doctoral authorization point in 2006, and a post-doctoral mobile station was established in 2007, forming a complete talent training system for undergraduate, master, doctoral and postdoctoral.

The optical engineering discipline of Shenzhen University closely focuses on the needs of major national projects and the development of the optoelectronic industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, forming the following five disciplines: 1. Intelligent optical measurement and imaging technology: exploring advanced optical measurement, imaging, perception, and information processing technologies , To develop new intelligent optical measuring instruments to serve intelligent manufacturing, major projects, national defense and major national strategies. 2. Biomedical optics and photonics: mainly focus on the optical methods and means required by life sciences and biomedicine to develop biomedical optical detection, imaging, diagnosis and treatment methods and technologies. 3. Fiber optic sensing and laser technology: Fiber optic sensing and laser technology: Carry out theoretical and experimental research on fiber optic sensing and laser technology, and develop a new generation of fiber optic sensors and laser systems. 4. Integrated photonics and functional materials: study integrated photonic systems and new functional materials and devices from three aspects: theory, calculation and experiment, develop new theories, synthesize new materials, design new structures, and assemble new devices. 5. Transient optics and optoelectronics: study the theory and technology of short-time and ultra-short-time amplification, and explore the physical, chemical and biological landscapes and evolution laws that occur in the ultra-fast process.

Chen Fu

Introduction

Dr Chen Fu works as Assistant Professor in College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University. His major research interests fall in piezoelectric film, acoustics, MEMS and acoustoptics etc. He used to work in Ajou University in South Korea and Newcastle University from 2011 to 2017. Till now, he has co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed journal papers in his field. He currently hosts several research funding, such as NSCF, Shenzhen-Hongkong joint project, which is roughly accumulated 5 million CNY in total. In addition, he has collaborated with Imperial College London(UK), Université de Lorraine (France), City University of Hong Kong, etc.

Beside a variety of cutting-edge facilities and equipment, Our group provide multi-disciplinary education and research infrastructure development in MEMS. With an emphasis on the spirit of innovation and high quality up-stream research, it is our goal to integrate the principles of physics into each of our research subjects. You will gain experience and skills in state-of-the-art Microengineering techniques. Introduction

Zhengbiao Ouyang obtained his B.S. degree in radio engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 1983 and his Ph.D. degree in electron physics from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 1988. He was awarded 2nd prize of Prog. in Sci. & Technol. from the Chin. Ministry of Mach. and Electron. in 1990, Alexander-von-Humboldt Fellowship of German in 1991, Guangdong Province-Level Scholar in 2007. He is currently a Professor and Director of Solid-State Photonics Laboratory in Shenzhen University, Deputy Director of THz Technical Research Center of Shenzhen University, and Vice Director of Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Micro-Nano Photonic Information Technology. He is a trustee of the Chinese Society of Optical Engineering, and a senior member of the Optical Society of America, a senior member of the Chinese Optical Society. His main interests in recent years include photonic crystals, metamaterials, nanomaterials, optical logic integrated circuits, nanophotonics, high-speed optical communication technology, THz devices, tunable optical frequency conversion, optical sensors, etc. Prof. Ouyang has published more than 200 scientific papers in which more than 140 papers are SCI indexed and over 160 papers are EI indexed. He holds over 70 Chinese patents of invention issued and over 30 US patents of invention issued. He has been supervisor of PhD students and postdoctors from Italy, India, Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania.

Introduction

He worked as researcher in College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University. He obtained his PhD degree from University of Rennes 1, France. Granted as overseas high caliber personnel (level B) in Shenzhen. He has extensive experience in energy related thin film materials and applications. He published over 120 science citation index (SCI) journal papers in Advanced Materials, Nano Energy, Chemical Engineering Journal, Solar RRL and other journals. He is regular journal paper reviewers for more than 30 journals. He is the academic editors of Advances in Materials Science and Engineering. He is responsible for National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Project of Department of Education of Guangdong Province, and other projects.

Introduction

 Prof. Jingting Luo received the Ph.D. degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2012. He is currently an associate professor in College of Physics and Energy of Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China. His research focuses on surface acoustic wave devices for gas sensors and biosensors. He has published more than 100 research papers on journals of  Biosensors & Bioelectronic,Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, Nanoscale,Physical Review Applied,Physical Review B,Applied Physics Letters, and applied 20 patents. He has been PI in 8 external competitive grants with ~ 10 million RMB from main funding sources for research.

Introduction

Dr. Junle Qu is a Distinguished Professor and the director of Center for Biomedical Photonics of Shenzhen University. He is the Fellow of SPIE (International Society of Optical Engineering). His research interests include multimodal nonlinear optical imaging, fluorescence lifetime imaging, super-resolution optical imaging, nanobiophotonics technology and light therapy. He has published more than 350 papers in peer reviewed journals such as Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, PNAS, Chemical Society Reviews, Chemical Reviews, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, Chem, Optics Letters, Optics Express, Biomedical Optics Express etc. He was authorized 35 invention patents, 3 of which were transferred. He was awarded the Important Achievements Award of China Optics in 2014, the Second Prize of Basic Research of Optical Science and Technology Award of Chinese Optical Society (2020). Dr. Qu is the director of Biomedical Photonics Committee of Chinese Optical Society. He is also the vice president of Biophysical Society of Guangdong Province, and the vice president of Biomedical Society of Guangdong Province. He is the associate editor of Journal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences (JIOHS), and also serves in the editorial board of Frontiers of Optoelectronics, Biosensors and Acta Optica Sinica.

Introduction

Qiao Wen received a B.Eng. degree in optoelectronics science and technology and an M.S. degree in optics both from Sichuan University, Chengdu, China, and a Ph.D. degree in optical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Since then, he has devoted his career to laser R&D, particularly ultrafast lasers. He is currently an Associate Professor with Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China. He has authored or coauthored more than 20 patent applications and more than 50 journal and conference papers. His current research interests include solid-state lasers, fiber lasers, and their applications.

Introduction

 Ying Wang holds the position of associate professor in College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering at Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, China. He received his BSc and Ph.D in Applied Physics and Physical Electronics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2004 and 2010, respectively. From 2010 to 2011, he was employed as a Research Associate at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. And from 2011 to 2015, he worked with the School of Science, Wuhan Institute of Technology, Wuhan, China. He joined Shenzhen University as an Associate Professor in 2015. He is currently also a vice-director of Shenzhen Engineering Lab of Femtosecond Laser Fabrication for Optical Materials.

His research interest focuses on optical fiber sensors, especially for photonic crystal fiber devices, micro/nanowire waveguide devices, and fiber optic bio-sensors. He authored >100 journal papers and >10 patents in the area of fiber optic devices and sensors. He delivered >5 keynote/invited speeches at international/national conferences. His works were cited >2300 times with h-index of 32 (SCIE). He secured research funds of over CNY¥9 million, has successfully supervised or co-supervised 7 PostDoc, 5 PhD and 8 MSc, and is currently supervising 7 Research Students.

Chunyu Guo

Introduction

Chunyu Guo is currently a Professor at College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University. He was a visiting scholar of Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC), University of Southampton. The main interests of his research are near-infrared and mid-infrared fiber lasers, as well as fiber communication technology. He has been granted 11 invention patents (one has been transferred) and presides over many national scientific research projects, school-enterprise cooperation projects, and industrialization projects. He was selected for the outstanding young teacher cultivation projects in Shenzhen University, the high-level talent in Shenzhen, and the outstanding young teacher cultivation projects in Guangdong province.

Introduction

  Dr. Long-Biao Huang obtained B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree from the Xi'an Jiaotong University (Top 15 of China) in 2004 and 2007, and then went to Global R&D center of Dow Chemical (Top 3 of global) as Research Chemist. In 2014, He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Center Of Super-Diamond and Advanced Films in City University of Hong Kong (Top 50 of global). After postdoctoral career in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University under supervision of Prof Jianhua Hao, he work as associate professor of Shenzhen University. Since 2011, Long-Biao Huang has been focusing on the polymer materials and their applications in electronics, triboelectric nanogenerators and self-powered sensor. He has been PI in 7 external competitive grants with ~ 5 million RMB from main funding sources for research (1 NSF-China, 2 NSF-Guangdong, 2 NSF-Shenzhen, and 1 education), and Co-PI in 1 NSF-Shenzhen. Dr. Long-Biao Huang has published ~60 papers indexed by ISI Web of Science, including the recently published high-impact journal papers in Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater., Small, Nano Energy, and ACS App. Mater. & Inter., His works are highlighted by media of Materials Views, Materials Views China, and joint the interview of Outstanding Young Professor.

Introduction

  Prof. Aihua Zhong received the Ph.D from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 2014. From 2015-2018, he was in the College of Physics and Energy, Shenzhen University. Since 2019, he has been an associate professor in the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University, where he is engaged in research and development of gas sensors, photo-detectors, sensor arrays, and MEMS devices. He has published more than 30 research papers and applied 10 patents. He has been PI in 4 external competitive grants with ~ 4 million RMB from main funding sources for research (2 NSF-China, 2 NSF-Shenzhen).

Introduction

Houzhi Cai,PhD, Senior Research Scientist, winner of  Jin Guofan Prize for Excellent Youth of China Instrument Society Scholarships and Shenzhen High Level Professional Talents, Excellent Youth Teachers of Shenzhen University, Young Aggressive Graduate Tutor of Shenzhen University. Since October 2016, have been working in the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of Shenzhen University, mainly researched on ultrafast diagnosis and imaging technology, intelligent sensing and embedded technology, ultrafast electric pulse technology and other related fields. Have supervised fifteen scientific research projects, including six national level projects, which contained two National Science and Technology Major Project of China, one General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one Youth Program of NSFC and two China Postdoctoral Science Foundations. Supervised a national 863 project as deputy leader. Have published more than 60 academic papers in domestic and foreign journals as the first or corresponding author and applied for more than 10 patents.

Received his Ph.D. degree from Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2013. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the College of Optoelectronic Engineering at Shenzhen University and a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Bioengineering, Clemson University. His research field includes Fluorescence lifetime microscopy, stimulated emission depletion (STED) super-resolution optical imaging and their applications in biomedicine. Published more than 50 SCI papers in international journals such as Advanced Materials, Angew. Chem., Nature Communications, Laser & Photonics Reviews, Nanophotonics, Photonics Research, etc.

Introduction

  Dr. Zhiyong Bai is currently an assistant professor with the college of physics and Optoelectronic Engineering in Shenzhen University. He is also the deputy director of Key Laboratory of Internet of Things Photonic Devices and Sensing System. He has supervised eight graduate students, and presided over 5 scientific research projects including National Natural Science Foundation of China, China Postdoctoral Foundation, and so on. He has authored or coauthored more than 60 publications in journals including Opt. Lett., opt. Express and other authoritative journals in the field of optics. The total citation of these publications is more than 900 and the H-index is 18. His research interests are in the generation and detection of orbital angular moment beam based on all-fiber devices, and its potential applications in optical tweezers and high-resolution fiber sensing system. The deputy director of Advanced Energy Research Center of SZU. Introduction

Special Term Professor of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, and Shenzhen leading talent. She has been engaged in the research of optical microscopic imaging technology for a long time. She has developed three new microscopic imaging methods and techniques based on nonlinear optical effects. In the past five years, she has published over 80 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Light Sci. Appl, Adv. Sci, Opt. Lett and other journals. She has presided over (completed) 15 national and provincial projects, and 2 doctoral students won the first and second prizes in the South China National Doctoral Program in Optics and Optical Engineering Competition. Additionally, one master's student received the school's Excellent Graduate Award. She also serves as the deputy director of the Special Committee of Biomedical Photonics of the Chinese Optical Society and the deputy secretary general of the Biomedical Photonics Branch of the Chinese Biomedical Engineering Society.

Introduction

Yu-Jia Zeng is a professor at Shenzhen University. He received his bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering from Zhejiang University and his Ph.D. degree in materials physics and chemistry from Zhejiang University. After graduation, he worked at the Department of Physics of KU Leuven as a postdoctoral fellow and a research associate. His research interests include low-dimensional materials, in particular semiconductors, for optoelectronics, spintronics, and multiferroics. He has authored over 200 publications with an H index=43. He also serves as a referee for over 60 widely read journals, including Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Angewandte Chemie, Nano Letters, Materials Today, Joule and so on. He is named in the list of Stanford University World’s Top 2% Scientists (2019, 2020).

Introduction

Prof. Zhang received the Ph.D. degree from Nanyang University of Technology in Singapore in 2012. He is currently a distinguished professor in College of Physics and Energy of Shenzhen University, and the director of Shenzhen Black Phosphorus Optoelectronic Technology Engineering Laboratory. He also served as deputy chairman of the Shenzhen Democratic League, member of the Central Committee of the Democratic League and member of the Guangdong Provincial CPPCC. He was RSC/OSA fellow , a May 4th Youth Award of Guangdong Province, a Hight cited scientist (2018-2021), a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation in Guangdong Province, a Ding Ying science and technology award in Guangdong Province, and a natural science award in Shenzhen. Presided over a number of national provincial and municipal projects, key projects (2015), general projects (2017-2018), international cooperation and exchange projects (2019), and national key research and development projects (2020).

He Mainly engaged in the research of low dimensional material optoelectronic devices and biophoton technology. More than 350 SCI papers have been published in total, 150 papers in SCI Zone I have been published as the first author or corresponding author, 30 cover papers, 4 papers have been selected as one of China's 100 most influential international academic papers, PNAS papers have been selected as one of China's top ten advances in optics - application research in 2018, 100 papers have been cited for 100 times, and 110 papers have been highly cited by ESI. The paper has been cited more than 60000 times, and the H index has exceeded 130.
