Through multidisciplinary cross-discipline, focus on the urban ecological pattern and effects, and the evolution of municipal environmental quality process and mechanism, municipal environmental toxicology and health research, the research direction reflects the status and role of this discipline in the field of municipal environmental and health research, and reflects the requirements of facing national strategic needs and the frontier of world environmental science and technology, and is sustainable for urban construction in China Development provides basic, forward-looking and strategic scientific and technological support, and continuously makes scientific and technological innovation contributions to the ecological planning and construction of China's cities and urban agglomerations, the improvement of environmental quality, and the sustainable development of social economy, and contributes to the future urban civilization of mankind The construction provides theoretical basis and practical guidance.

" Municipal Environment and Public Health " doctoral program includes modern civil engineering, municipal engineering, environmental science and engineering, biology, medicine, ecology, biological resources and engineering, geography, toxicology and informatics Supported by multidisciplinary cutting-edge science and technology. It is an emerging interdisciplinary subject that studies the relevant theoretical techniques and methods for the coordinated development of human urban health and the environment. This subject will combine the needs of China's social and economic development, center on the environmental effects of urbanization and the sustainable development of the urban environment, and take the municipal environment and health effects as the research object.

牛青山教授长期从事于电子材料,能源材料及反渗透膜材料的教学、科研和产业化工作。先后在美国康奈尔大学和加州大学伯克利分校任教授助理,在美国知名跨国企业陶氏化学和通用电气担任高级研究员,首席工程师及首席科学家等职务。2014年任中国石油大学(华东)化学工程学院教授、博导,现任深圳大学高等研究院特聘教授。已在国际、国内发表有影响力的文章近40篇,被授权19项美国专利,授权3项中国专利,正在申请15项中国专利,在业界有较高的知名度和影响力,引领了国内外水处理工艺及过程-反渗透膜材料的技术方向。

For over twenty years, Professor Niu had worked in USA as an educator, researcher and innovator in the area of electronic materials, energy materials and reverse osmosis membranes: first at Cornell University and UC Berkeley as a Professor Assistant, then at The Dow Chemical Company(Dow)and General Electric Company(GE)as a Principal Scientist. Since 2014, he has worked in China as a Distinguish Professor in the field of materials science and engineering: first at China University of Petroleum (East China) and now at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), Shenzhen University. He has published nearly 40 influential articles internationally and domestically, 19 US patents have been authorized, 3 Chinese patents have been authorized, and 15 Chinese patents are being applied for. He has a high reputation and influence in the industry, leading the technical direction of membrane materials and process in domestic and foreign water treatment processes.

I have published nearly 30 papers in top journals including Chem. Rev., Acc. Chem. Res., Angew. Chem., Nat. Plants, and Anal. Chem., with total citation of >1000. Our research goal is to develop novel point-of-care diagnostic tools for automated “sample-to-answer” biomarker analysis, to empower the capability on disease detection and management. These portable and connected chemosensors will be integrated with new assay methods to facilitate early diagnosis, personalized medicine, and bring healthcare closer to the patients. We will apply interdisciplinary approaches to create these detection systems, including smartphone-based sensors, molecular assays, lab-on-a-chip devices, microfluidics, and plasmonic nanomaterials.

Xu Shanshan, female, researcher, Institute of Advanced Research in Shenzhen University, specializes in the field of biomedical materials. She is good at building surface micro-nano structure, special mechanical response structure and drug controlled release system, the relationship between structure and performance is revealed by using rheologic, differential thermal and scattering techniques. In 2004, she graduated from Tsinghua University, and in 2009, she graduated from the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. June 2016-present Shenzhen University as a research fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies, and 2019-present adjunct associate professor at the University of Maryland School of Technology. More than 15 years experience in design, development and performance evaluation of high-performance implantable medical devices.

毛石清是中国科学院上海生化细胞所博士,剑桥大学肿瘤研究所博士后,现任深圳大学高等研究院研究员。一直聚焦于DNA修饰,组蛋白修饰在哺乳动物早期发育及其在肿瘤等疾病基因组中的机制和功能进行研究。近年围绕DNA修饰酶,组蛋白等在细菌及藻类基因组中的演化与生理功能进行探索。近年以第一或共同第一作者身份在Cell Stem Cell,Stem Cell Research,Nature Structure Molecular Biology,Biochemistry等发表学术论文,他引超 2500 次。

Dr Mao graduated from Chinese Academy of Sciences, and finished his postdoc training in Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. His PhD and postdoc research focused on the functions of DNA methylation and histone modifications in mammalian early development and cancer progression. Recently, his lab also expanded the research area to 1) genomics sequencing and bioinformatical analysis of DNA modifications in algae; 2) bioinformatical inference of interplay between DNA methylation and transposon elements; 3) machine learning discovery of novel proteins in archaea. He has published multiple first or last author research articles on Cell Stem Cell, Stem Cell Research, Nature Structure Molecular Biology, Biochemistry etc, which have been cited more than 2500 times.

Research directions: (1) The mechanism of deep-sea microorganisms in carbon and nitrogen biogeochemical cycles. (2) Interactions between aquatic animals and their microbiomes. (3) Isolation and cultivation of novel archaea and bacteria, and development of probiotics and bioactive substances. Successfully led four national, one provincial, and two municipal research projects.
